Hello, my name is Carlos Gonzalez and I am fifth year PhD student in Economics (third year DPhil) at the University of Oxford. I am currently visiting Pompeu Fabra University (January–March, 2026) and Harvard University (March–June, 2026).
My work focuses on adaptive experiments and its applications to public policy design and microeconomic theory. To do so, I combine tools from Machine Learning, Probability Theory, Economics and Statistics.
I completed my MPhil in Economics with Distinction at the University of Oxford. I hold a double major in Economics and International Studies from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. In the past, I have been a visiting student and researcher at the University of California at Berkeley, Bocconi University, CEMFI and Bank of Spain. I have also served as a Teaching Assistant for the University of Chicago, as a Research Analyst for Compass Lexecon and as Research Economist for Amazon. You can find my CV here
